After international arbitration proceedings for more than a year and a half, with lawyers from different countries and continents, an arbitral tribunal with very well recognized arbitrators awarded Lindahl’s client a milestone payment consisting of several million dollars under a share purchase agreement. Due to invoked complicated circumstances a number of experts in the life science field involved appeared and gave expert reports in writing and orally. The evidential hearing involved a large number of lawyers (the main counsels for the counterparty were not Swedish). It lasted for a full scheduled week and was held earlier this year, over Zoom due to the pandemic.
Lindahl’s main client contact person, the chairman of the board of the client, commented after the hearing and award that he was very pleased with the entire proceedings and the outcome; “Even though my true belief is that we were right all the time, I know, in particular from this experience, that you can never be certain in advance of the outcome, no matter how good lawyers and experts you engage, and how skilled and hard they (and you) work on the case.”
