MKB Fastighets AB and Skånska Travsällskapet (STS) has agreed regarding an acquisition of Jägersro Trav- & Galoppbana (center for harness racing and gallop in Malmö). The real estate value amounts to 775 MSEK. With the transaction Malmo will obtain a new city district located in Jägersro with approx. 3,400 new residences and a new center for horse sports. The transaction is subject to approval by the general association meeting of STS and the board of MKB.
The transaction will enable MKB to secure future building rights for its own land and residence development, but MKB also opens up for sale of land to other commercial and private participants in order to promote a mixed and lively settlement. Further, the transaction allows the famous harness racing center at Jägersro to stay in the center of Malmö and being developed into a modern version.
