Public Procurement

Lindahl has extensive experience in advising on matters related to the public sector and public procurement. This means that we assist not only government agencies, other public entities, and state-owned companies but also, in the context of public procurement, contracting authorities and bidders. We have experience with very large procurements and also conduct comprehensive seminars and training activities.

Several of the lawyers in our public procurement team have previously worked as agency and corporate lawyers, while others have long served as advisors to the public sector. Thus, we are well acquainted with both the administrative culture and practices in politically governed organizations.

This is beneficial because public procurement is a complicated process with many different steps, and many business owners perceive it as more difficult to sell to the public sector than to the private sector. Even the entities regulated by the Public Procurement Act (LOU) often find the regulations difficult to comprehend and follow. There is also often uncertainty about whether an entity is subject to LOU at all.

In addition to extensive experience in advising on public procurement, transparency, and confidentiality issues, we have also participated in several projects related to corporatization and privatization. Today, many public entities seek legal reinforcement in their ongoing legal work, and with our ability to offer full-service business law support, we can provide cost-effective specialist expertise in the business law areas that affect the public sector. An example of such an area is the environment, where we have seen an increase in the number of cases involving the public sector in recent years. Here, our clients can benefit from the collective experience within Lindahl's environmental law competence group.
