Sustainability and Social Responsibility

Lindahl is an engaged part of society and an advisor with a long-term vision. As advisors within business and law, our most important contribution to sustainable development is to support an efficient, sustainable, and innovative business sector and society through the work we do with our clients.

Through various national and regional engagements, we are also involved in different initiatives and associations that work with human rights, business development, women's entrepreneurship, integration projects, entrepreneur networks, and incubator activities, as well as support for people in need.

On this page, you can read about Lindahl's perspective on sustainability and the initiatives we are involved in.

Lindahl's internal sustainability work

Lindahl's internal sustainability work is based on the global goals for sustainable development and the UN Global Compact principles, which address the responsibilities and actions of businesses in relation to human rights, labor rights, the environment, and anti-corruption.

UN Global Compact – The Ten Principles

Human Rights

01. Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights within their sphere of influence; and

02. ensure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Labor

03. Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;

04. the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;

05. the effective abolition of child labor; and

06. the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.

Environment

07. Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

08. undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

09. encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

Anti-Corruption

10. Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

By basing our policies and processes on the UN Global Compact, we ensure that we live up to our fundamental responsibilities as a company. It also creates conditions for long-term sustainable development and success.

Sustainability in our daily work

In the six cities where Lindahl has offices and employees, we aim to offer a workplace characterized by good ethics, respect for the individual, equal conditions, and equal value for all. We operate in accordance with rules and guidelines, the codes of the legal profession and business, as well as the aforementioned global sustainability goals and principles.

In our sustainability work, we emphasize the importance of a good working environment, which relates to both psychosocial and physical and social conditions. Inclusion and equality are significant, and the work environment should not only be safe but also developmental and possible for the individual to influence.

Another key to a long-term sustainable operation is the importance of competence development. At Lindahl, employees are our most important asset—therefore, it is crucial that Lindahl's managers support the development of every employee's engagement and skills. By unlocking the potential of each individual employee, we build a firm that can create value in both the business sector and society at large.

Local engagements

At our local offices, we support several non-profit organizations and initiatives that in various ways contribute to positive development in our surrounding world:

The Stockholm office supports Beredskapslyftet, including the Professional Support Center. In Gothenburg, Lindahl supports Ung Cancer, Stadsmissionen, and Hungerprojektet. The Malmö office collaborates with Connect Skåne, Transfer, and YUMP, and actively participates in Läxhjälpen through Nolla Utanförskapet. Lindahl in Uppsala supports Connect Uppsala and the incubator program at Uppsala Innovation Centre, and is a partner company to Uppsala Stadsmission. In Örebro, there is extensive collaboration with Örebro University, through the incubator program Inkubera and teaching business law at the Faculty of Law. In Helsingborg, we support Nyföretagarcentrum Nordväst and Sparbanken Öresund Executives in their work with women's entrepreneurship in developing countries, as well as Transfer and Campus Vänner.

National collaboration with Raoul Wallenberg Institute

Since the beginning of 2024, Lindahl has been a partner of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI). Since 1984, RWI has worked to promote universal respect for human rights and humanitarian law through research, academic education, and development programs aimed at key actors in selected partner countries. The institute is headquartered in Lund and operates in about forty countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The institute combines evidence-based research on human rights with direct engagement to effect change and collaborates with actors who have the power to drive this change, such as cities, businesses, and universities. Through the collaboration, internal training and various joint activities are conducted between RWI and Lindahl. Learn more about the Raoul Wallenberg Institute at rwi.lu.se.
